Max Simkoff, Chief Executive Officer
Max co-founded Evolv in 2006, to change the way hourly employers and employees got “matched” through predictive science. Prior to Evolv, Max was the Director of Corporate Development for RCS, a hospital payment technology company backed by Austin Ventures and InvestRx. At RCS, Max oversaw the evaluation and negotiation of strategic acquisitions and joint venture programs while also managing the design and implementation of the company’s talent acquisition program. Before joining RCS, Max was a co-founder of InvestRx, a San Francisco-based private equity fund targeting middle-market healthcare services and technology companies. Max has a BA in History from Northwestern University.Why I Started Evolv: to solve one of the world’s biggest problems (making the wrong match between employers and employees) and to drive a tremendous positive impact on productivity, profitability, and personal happiness.
Jim Meyerle, Chief Operating Officer
Jim has a background in strategy consulting with a focus on operations and structured finance. Prior to Evolv, he was with Keystone Strategy, where he worked in two key areas: divestiture strategy for Fortune 50 consumer products and technology companies; and product management for ‘mega’ projects in the public sector. Prior to Keystone, his background was largely in structured finance, with a specialty in leveraged buyouts for middle-market technology-enabled service companies. Jim has a BA in Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia where he was an Echols Scholar and a MA in Economics from Saint Andrews University, Scotland, where he was a recipient of the Saint Andrews Graduate Fellowship.Why I Started Evolv: to create a disruptive approach that would redefine how employers and potential employees go about finding each other.
David Ostberg, Vice President, Selection Science
David is responsible for selection tool design and development, selection science consulting, and validation and ongoing refinement of the Evolv assessment offering. Prior to joining Evolv, David was a Senior Scientist and Practice Manager for Kronos Talent Management, where he managed a team of Industrial Psychologists in developing and implementing numerous selection assessments for a multitude of Fortune 500 companies. At Kronos, David facilitated the development, validation, and deployment of a range of assessment tools in a variety of industries, including casual dining, hospitality, grocery, and retail. David is a member of and reviewer for the Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology, as well as the American Psychological Association. He has presented research papers at several peer-reviewed academic conferences, and has taught and guest lectured in graduate and undergraduate courses in industrial/organizational psychology, human resource management, human motivation, and research design at several universities in the Pacific Northwest. David received both a Ph.D. in Systems Science and a Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Portland State University and has a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.Why I Joined Evolv: to develop truly innovative, dynamic business solutions and technology for industries that could greatly benefit from them.
Dennis Yen, VP of Engineering
Dennis is responsible for product development for Evolv. Prior to joining Evolv, Dennis was Senior Director at Oracle, overseeing product development for a multi-dimension analytics product set. Prior to Oracle, Dennis co-founded Interlace Systems. Interlace Systems enabled large corporations perform predictive analyses on large datasets to understand the business impact of key operational decisions. Interlace was acquired by Oracle in 2008. Dennis was also an early employee at Hyperion Solutions, where he was Director of Product Development, responsible for an OLAP platform product. Dennis received his MS in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and has a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Chengkung University in Taiwan.Why I Joined Evolv: I’m a tremendous believer in using the power of data to predict outcomes, and Evolv’s approach to helping companies hire is way ahead of what others are doing in this space.
