Evolv Gives Its Annual Donation of 1 Percent of Profits to Year Up Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, March 22, 2011 — Evolv, the leading provider of science-based, on-demand talent matching and intelligence solutions, today announced that it would be making a donation of 1 percent of 2010 profits to Year Up Bay Area. Each year, Evolv donates the greater of $10,000 or 1 percent of annual profit to employment development programs that help better train and develop the world’s workforce.

Year Up Bay Area is a local non-profit organization whose year-long, technology training program reaches out to Bay Area young adults to provide them with the skills, experiences, and support to empower them in their careers and education.

“The Year Up program helps its students find and keep meaningful work—a mission which, at the end of the day, is what we’re all about here at Evolv.” said Max Simkoff, Evolv’s CEO. “We’re excited to give our support to a program whose commitment to providing a long-term employment solution for the students it serves, betters both the lives of these students and our local community.”

"We are truly grateful for the generous donation from Evolv On-Demand,” said Year Up Executive Director Scott Donohue. “Their support enables Year Up Bay Area to continue to provide opportunities for young adults throughout the Bay Area."

Since the program began in 2008, Year Up Bay Area has served over 220 Bay Area young adults through its rigorous technology training program. Once accepted into the program, students choose either an IT or Quality Assurance track. They spend the first five months of the program in the classroom learning technical and professional skills. During the final six months of the program, students put these skills to use in IT or QA internships.

Year Up Bay Area puts into practice a core Evolv ideal—connecting qualified and deserving people with career opportunities. Students in Year Up Bay Area Class Five told Mr. Simkoff during a recent in-person meeting how much access to these opportunities meant to them.

“Hearing how this program helped match students to experiences they wouldn’t have otherwise enjoyed access to made it stand out as an organization that Evolv should support,” Mr. Simkoff said.

Evolv’s annual donation to workforce and development programs like Year Up Bay Area is a way Evolv gives back to the job-seeking community it relies on to deliver value to clients.
