The Evolv Story

The Beginning

Evolv was born when our two founders (Max Simkoff and Jim Meyerle) were trying to manage recruiting for a contact center. Frustrated by the lack of precision of the hiring methods and technologies available to them, they created their own early-stage version of Evolv’s Talent Intelligence platform. Within their own center, they reduced turnover by over 50% and improved hourly productivity by nearly 40%.

Evolv Evolves

Nagaraj Nadendla and David Ostberg joined Evolv in early 2008, and quickly put their prior experience building world-class enterprise technology platforms to work. Nagaraj focused on defining and developing an enterprise Software-as-a-Service architecture, while David built out Evolv’s Selection Science infrastructure, drawing on his previous experience developing job screening algorithms used to assess millions of job applicants across service industries including retail, hospitality, casual dining and grocery. In six months, Nagaraj and David delivered the first version of Evolv’s world-class SaaS solution to Evolv’s first customer: a healthcare services company that used Evolv to reduce attrition in their call center by 45% and improve profitability by several million dollars.

In 2009, Evolv added veteran contact center executive John Hoholik to the team. Under John’s leadership, and thanks in no small part to his 1950’s high-school football coach haircut, Evolv rapidly added a number of leading contact center organizations to its customer list. Along the way each one of these clients (without exception) enjoyed company-wide attrition reductions by at least 40%, hourly productivity increases of over 10% and millions of incremental dollars delivered to their bottom lines in the process.

The Present & Future

With Selection Science and the Evolv Network Effect delivering outstanding results to clients, Evolv began in 2009 to innovate its Service Delivery Model under the guidance of Michael Dekshenieks. And to better meet the needs of a marketplace hungry for Talent Intelligence, Jeff Bieller joined the team in 2010.

Evolv is the realization of our entire team’s collective experience in observing, living, and trying to meet the challenge of matching the right person to the right job. Today we are using our Selection Science to solve this challenge in the contact center market, and are actively expanding to other hourly industries that struggle to acquire talent. Tomorrow we intend to be the preeminent global platform for scientifically matching the right person to the right job, measurably improving company profits and improving employee job satisfaction for the world’s labor population.
